Choose your challenge to support Martin House
Three peaks in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The question is, will you take on three, two or one?
Gather your friends, family or work colleagues and take to the hills by signing up for this iconic challenge, all whilst raising money for the vital care at Martin House Children’s Hospice. Whether you choose three, two or one peak, it’s sure to be a memorable day.
The 24-mile three peaks trek starts in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, hiking up Pen-y-ghent, then ascending Whernside, and finally tackling the short scramble up Ingleborough.
Rowan Simpson, events fundraiser at Martin House, said: “The Yorkshire Three Peaks is such a famous event set in the glorious surroundings of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Now you can choose your challenge, it’s the perfect option for all abilities.”
The challenge takes place on Saturday 10 June and is self-led, but walkers will be prepared at the start by event partners and experienced mountain guides, Over Limits, who will be on hand to support throughout the day and ensure participants are staying on course.
Rowan added: “The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a personal challenge lots of people want to complete – and by taking part in our event, you get all the support you need to do it, whilst raising money to help seriously ill children in our community.”
Martin House provides free care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, from across West, North and East Yorkshire. Its care includes respite stays, emergency and symptom control, end of life care and bereavement support.
It costs approximately £9 million a year to run Martin House, the majority of which comes from voluntary donations and fundraising.
It costs just £40 to sign up to the Martin House Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, with a sponsorship target of £150. You can find out more on choosing your challenge at www.martinhouse.org.uk/YorkshireThreePeaks.
