How your business can support St Gemma’s Hospice and help provide vital care and support to local people in Leeds
St Gemma’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses. Care is based on a simple idea – that the person is more than the illness. Each of us – sick or well – has unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. St Gemma’s responds to these needs in ways which place the highest value on respect, choice and empowerment.
Care is offered in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team and via a range of Out-Patient clinics. We also provide bereavement support and counselling and our Young People’s Service supports bereaved children from across Leeds.
The services provided by St Gemma’s Hospice are completely free of charge to patients, families and carers but are not free to provide. We need to raise £8 million every year to continue providing our care.
Why support St Gemma’s?
St Gemma’s Hospice is a well-respected and valued charity with a fantastic local and national reputation. We are confident that if you are looking to grow your brand awareness within Leeds, whilst engaging your colleagues and achieving your Corporate Social Responsibility targets, we can help!
Kate Goldring, Director of Income Generation at St Gemma’s Hospice says “A partnership with St Gemma’s is mutually beneficial, both for your company and colleagues, and for St Gemma’s and the vital care we deliver in Leeds. We work with companies of all sizes, offering a tailored approach to your needs. As with our care, we know that one size doesn’t fit all, so we are keen to learn about you and how we can support each other in creating a valuable and innovative partnership.”
Simon Hall, Managing Director at Lawcris, one of the Hospice’s charity partners, says “We are immensely proud to have supported St Gemma’s Hospice in a variety of ways over the years. Supporting the Hospice has multiple benefits – most importantly it is a great way for us to give something back to the community and help an amazing local charity provide a vital service. But it is also a great opportunity for us to encourage and empower our colleagues to get involved, have fun, work together and see the positive results of their actions. Most of our staff have heard about St Gemma’s, or had direct experience of their exemplary care, so they are motivated and enthusiastic about playing their part. Long may our partnership continue.”
There are a whole host of ways your company can get involved. For example:
St Gemma’s events
We schedule events and challenges throughout the year. From adrenaline-charged challenges such as skydives to stimulating runs & hikes such as Total Warrior & the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and not forgetting our fantastic annual Winter Ball! You can find a full list of our events at events.st-gemma.co.uk
Partnerships
Partner with St Gemma’s Hospice by donating a set amount or a % to the Hospice from the sale of your products or services. For example, an estate agent may make a donation per house that they sell. You can use our well-recognised logo and we can profile you across our social media platforms, making your product or service stand out from the crowd.
Volunteering
Bring your team together to volunteer with the Hospice for a day. We have a range of opportunities available from sorting through donated stock at our Retail Hub, to helping out in our beautiful gardens to supporting the smooth running of our fundraising events on the day.
With your support, we can continue to make an impact in the local community and meet the needs of people living with terminal illnesses and those close to them with care, compassion and skill.
