NSPCC welcomes a year of fundraising support from Leeds Chamber Of Commerce
The NSPCC is delighted to have been named charity of the year by the Leeds Chamber Of Commerce.
The NSPCC relies on voluntary donations for 90% of its funding, and the support of the Chamber will be a huge contribution towards ensuring the charity can continue to support children and young people across Yorkshire.
Mike Briffett, president of the Leeds Chamber, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the NSPCC as our chosen charity for the next two years, and we’re certain our members will be enthusiastic to help however they can.
“As a Chamber, we want to ensure businesses across West and North Yorkshire are able to make a positive impact on society, so whether our members will be volunteering, donating or hosting exciting fundraising events, we can’t wait to get started and help support a wonderful, worthwhile cause.”
Jackie Dawson, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manager for Yorkshire, said: “The support of the Chamber is fantastic news for the NSPCC, and we’re hugely grateful to the organisation and all its members for ensuring we can still be here for children when they need us.
“We help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening, so when a child needs a helping hand, we’ll be there. When parents are finding it tough, we’ll help. When laws need to change, or governments need to do more, we won’t give up until things improve.”
