Watson Buckle kick-off year of fundraising with charity football match
A team of accountants from one of Bradford’s leading accountancy firms, Watson Buckle, have raised money for The Cellar Trust in a charity football match.
The firm joined a number of local businesses at the Business Fives Bradford Event, which took place on 10 March.
All money raised by Watson Buckle’s team will go to its charity of the year, The Cellar Trust. The Cellar Trust supports people with mental health problems across the Bradford district to move forward in their recovery and live independent, fulfilling lives through a variety of important services.
The Business Fives Bradford Event is not only a great way for the firm to raise money but also helps local businesses to get to know one another through friendly competition.
The tournament operates under a tiered system where teams are split into Champions League and Europa League sections, with each squad of eight playing six to nine matches to decide a winner.
Mark Wilcock, Managing Director at Watson Buckle and part of the team taking part, said prior to the event: “We are ready and raring to go. We can’t wait to play alongside some of our city’s leading businesses as we raise money for this wonderful cause”.
“Many people will, at some point in their lives, experience the impact of mental health, whether in their own lives or through their friends and family. That is why The Cellar Trust is such an important charity within the local area. We hope to raise money and awareness of the incredible work done by The Cellar Trust.”
Although this match is the firm’s first charity event of the year, it has more planned during 2022 to help raise money for The Cellar Trust.
